Feather edge boards generally used for fences & privacy area's in gardens, ideal for changing the look of any household boundary, the feather edge pales are the fence sections that run vertically (or top to bottom). These are mounted on horizontal rails. The pales are known as feather edge or featherboard because they taper - one side is thicker and tapers to a finer width, resembling a feather, hence the name.
